ABC Scrum In A Day Course
The Agile Business Consortium and APMG have collaborated, once again, to create a fantastic Agile training and certification offering – ABC Scrum Master. Nlighten are delighted to offer both this and our brand-new Scrum in a day course on a public schedule
Scrum: “That absolute alignment of purpose and trust
is something that creates greatness”
Jeff Sutherland (co-creator of Scrum)
Scrum is the basis of most Agile product delivery in the world today. It is a simple, elegant and very effective way for development teams and their customer – their Product Owner – to collaborate and deliver value to their sponsoring business in short, focused bursts of activity.
Carefully positioned in the market as an alternative to the IT-specific Scrum Alliance and Scrum.org offerings, the unique selling point for the ABC Scrum products, from the Agile Business Consortium, is that they take Scrum out of the exclusive realms of IT and make it equally applicable to the world of business, helping any team in any part of the organisation deliver optimally valuable products in short timescales.
Whether you are an IT professional or a professional in a different discipline such as marketing, HR or operations, the ABC Scrum training is for you. You will return to your workplace motivated and equipped to achieve increased success in delivering your products – whatever they may be.
About The Training
This one-day course covers the same content as the first day of our Scrum Master course and will give you a practical understanding of Scrum and enable you to become immediately productive as either a team member or a stakeholder in a Scrum development endeavour, helping you get the most out of the Scrum approach to product development and delivery.
The course uses the much-loved and highly effective training from the back of the room style meaning that it is highly interactive with short bursts of hands-on learning interspersed with even shorter bursts of theory and slideware.
By the end of this course certified ABC Scrum Masters will know:
- What Scrum is and its Agile context
- How Scrum works – its process, events and associated artefacts
- The roles and responsibilities of those involved
Who Should Attend?
- Anyone currently, or soon to be, engaged in a Scrum endeavour.
- Any Project Manager, project management officer or product development stakeholder needing to understand their part in making Scrum effective.

Some years ago, nlighten’s founding partner Andrew Craddock wrote a pocket book describing how AgilePM – the worlds first truly Agile project Management approach – could be tailored to work seamlessly with Scrum. This course is currently available as an in-house course and will be available soon as an on-line offering for project managers and project management officers who need more than Scrum can offer in terms of project management and governance
